RomanoPlay

Lead Artist and Local School Children

The role of the artist is to facilitate the creative design process by delivering a programme of workshops with children from schools in Ingleby Barwick. You can see the results of the workshops in the Research Gallery.

Stockton council had the vision that spaces for play were best developed by actually asking the people who played in them to design them.

Artists Lee and Jill Brewster who design public spaces and public works of art were appointed to work with schools, young people and the wider community, engaging them in this design process.

Lee and Jill  have been working with 4 schools in Ingleby Barwick 10 children from each school. They have been working together to discover what play is and how best to encourage it. The concepts and visions that they have developed have been drawn up by Stockton Council and can be seen in the Masterplan Section of this site.
